TEN MEN APPLES LOSE THEIR UNBEATEN TAG AT AC

Two reasons for todays visit to Forest Rec,, the home of Goose Fair, AC United had won the sponsors Team of the month for October and also both teams in the top 5 and the visitors from Lincolnshire were unbeaten in the league.

Colsterworth are known as the Apples and have just appointed a new manager, and Hazel had to take a photo of AC United before it began to get dark with the 3pm kick off under the floodlights, hence why not many photos today, as my camera is rubbish.

The game kicked off and both teams settled down and had good chances in the first half matching each other, with The Apples going very close when their captain smashed the ball against the crossbar and it bouncing the wrong side of the goal line for the score to stay at 0-0, meanwhile the homesters went close when a ball whipped across from the right wing avoided everyone apart from a home striker who placed the ball towards a empty net, but then a defender skidded from nowhere to clear the ball off the line. Both keepers were also called in to action making decent saves.

The Second Half kicked off and AC pushed forward but then in the 51st minute came the turning point in the game, when a visiting player saw a red card reducing his side to 10 men, this seemed to spur United forward but finishing was poor or the away defence stood firm until a break three on three in the 73rd minute, saw a Colsterworth defence slip and JUNIOR GHELI passed him and fired home to the delight of the home supporters and the young kids from their kids team stood behind me.

AC then took the game by the scruff of the neck and pushed forward and in the 78th minute, they had doubled their lead after a beautiful series of one touch football, which lead to JUNIOR GHELI netting again.

Before the match, AC United Founder and his dad kindly donated £30 on behalf of AC United towards the Motor Neurone Disease Support Group then after the match, Referee Michael Mrokek also kindly donated £10, whilst my friend Herbie went to Brodsworth Welfare and they have kindly donated £10, so with the cheque being presented on Thursday 12th December at their support group, the running total stands at £2,425.50p.

I will be working on the New Blog for 2025 whilst at my daughters in the New Yeear which will be for the new Autism Awareness Charity Shop in Mansfield, I have already raised £185.00 so far through doing 1st ever programmes for some clubs and in 2 weeks time Im doing LANGWITH WHITE STAR's FIRST EVER PROGRAMME & BADGE, people from all over the country are attending and programmes and badges have been ordered from both Germany and Finland.

The Langwith Whitestar and Greyfriars FC badges have arrived today and already half of the badges have been preordered,

Also doing badges are Calverton MW, East Leake Robins and AC United. Badges will be £4 each but please pre order as only 50 have been done.

I will be doing all 3 1st ever programmes at £2 each.

Usually I would do a write up about the match,but I will be honest, I saw very little of it. Just outside the caged 3g pitch, me and Hazel set up the table forthe hoppersto collect their progrannes and club badges.

The first match the attendance was 44 and then last month 93 at Reindeer FC, today people came from Scotland to Essex, people of all ages turned in a crowd of 123, which FCV Grace catered very well forand of course Aslockton played their part as well

At each match, the programmemoney and donatioon bucket has gone to be split to2 charities, MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP and AUTISM AWARENESS which my next blog will be for.

Over the three games, programme sales have gone up, but I have had to buy more inks, so have had to cover for them. Over the 3 games, £281 was raised but with inks cost and paper, it madeboth charities a Massive £118 each,but I do still have some more money coming back in after the Langwith Whitestar match on Saturday14th December.

Id like to thank everyone for their support as the running total for the Motor Neurone Disease Group pushes on to £2,175.50p. The cheque is being presented on Thursday 12th December.

FCV and a couple of people have already made donations to start the Autism Awareness Blog off, that I will set up over the New Year

OLYMPIC GRAB THE BATTLE OF THE GOLD

Sometimes you can watch a match and think what happened there,both teams went in to the game as the bottom two and me and Hazel got a great welcome from both clubs,both teams gave great respect in the silence before kick off.

The game kicked off and a young paceySez team were on the front foot and in the first few minutes had hit the woodwork twice and had a shot cleared off the line,so surely it was just a matter of time before they scored. They were playing with quick passing, but after 14minutes Radcliffe had their first chance when they got a free kick on the far leftside,which was floated in and was met by JOSH MEEK's bullet of a header to put Olympic ahead.

FC Sez carried on passing the ball but found the home keeper in good formand the back four solid,they had the majority of the playand their keeper wasnt troubled.

At half time, I felt that FC Sez would get back in to this game,as they finished as they left off, attack after attackwithsome poor shots that went wide or they were being blocked by the home defence.

In the 66th Minute, a rare attack by Radcliffe saw it fall to MICHAEL MOUSSA HAGA who shot from the left wing intothe far top corner of the net to doublethe advantage of the homesters.

A lifeline caame for FC Sez in the 81st minute, when awarded a penaltybut the home keeper was equal tot he strikers spot kick and saved it.

At this stage,Sez knew it wasnt to be their day and with the clock running down on 86 minutes, MICHAEL MOUSSA HAGA closed down the visiting keeper,where the ball bounced off Michael and over the keepers head for him to tap in to a empty net.

In the final seconds of the game, JOSH MULLINS completed the scoring for Radcliffe for them to jump up 2 places in the Division.

After the match,the CHARITY BLOGin rhe pub was kindlydonated £40by Radcliffe Olympic and match referee £5 on Wednesday a friend of Hazel's Annette donated £3 and with the 11goals seen scored today took the running total for the MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP to over £2,000, we are handing the cheque over on Thursday 12th December, if anyone would like to make adonation,then the charity blog details are:

EDU'S TRIPLE SETTLES LOCALDERBY

WARRIORS FC 3 NEWARK & SHERWOOD DEVELOPMENT 4

My first visit to Newark Academy just off London Roadand a first look at these 2 new clubs,the ground had 2 junior games going on and a cafe open selling Bacon cobs at just £2.

The main pitch is used by AFC Warriors and tothe far sidehas a train track with trains running past quite often,whilst surrounded by lovely countryside and fields.

A minutes silence took place before kick off and I then made my way to the halfway line for the 10.30am kick off.

The game began with only1 defeat between both teams in the league, though the hosts beat the visitors 5-2 recently in the league cup.

Both sides matched each other for the first 10 minutes, but then on 13 minutes the visitors tookthe lead,when HARRY RUSYNIK side footed the ball across in to the net.

This seemed toencourage the visitors to press more forward and on 22 minutes LATEEF EDU doubled his sides advantage to2-0.

Just after the half hour came the goal of the game,when LATEEF EDU cut in past 3 defenders and curled the ball in to the top far corner of the net.

The home side changed tactics and though 3 down,began to create more chances and on 41 minutes pulled back a goal,when TOBY CULLEN volleyed past the visiting keeper.

At Half Time, Ifelt there would be more goals in this game and on 51 minutes, I was correct as Warriors reduce the arrears,when RILEY PICKER tapped in from close range.

The visitors seemed to have dropped a player from up front and this seemed to work to the homesters advantageand on the hour were level,when a penalty kick was saved but fell to the feet of DEX ROBINSON to follow up and equalise.

The game then flowed from end to end and was anybodys game as both teams went for the winner,but in the 80th minute, LATEFF EDU pushed forward on the left and cracked home his hat trick and win for his club.

Really great to meet some new people and old friends as well.

Many of you will know me as Im the registrations and discipline officer of the Nottinghamshire Senior League, also was organiser of 14 groundhops in the past.

I used to be Programme Editor of Arnold Town, Dunkirk FC and Ripley Town back in the day, whilst most clubs programmes are fading out, several of the Nottinghamshire Senior League Clubs have asked if I would do their FIRST EVER PROGRAMME and several are asking for a badge to be done.

Many of you will know me as Im the registrations and discipline officer of the Nottinghamshire Senior League, also was organiser of 14 groundhops in the past.

I will be producing FCV GRACE DIEU FIRST EVER PROGRAMME when they face Aslockton & Orston, all programme sales will be going to the charity Autism Awareness, which most of you will know I have a son with autism, the cost of the programme will be £2, if you would like one posted then please add £1.50 for postage. For those attending via public transport, the nearest train station is at Loughborough and FCV Grace Dieu are offering a FREE minibus leaving the train station at 12.45pm BUT the seats MUST be prebooked via myself, there are still seats available but dont leave it till the last minute and be disappointed

SOUTHBANK LEAVE IT LATE TO GAIN SHOCK OF THE ROUND AT OLLERTON

 Notts FA Saturday Senior Trophy: 2nd Round

OLLERTON TOWN FC 2 GEDLING SOUTHBANK FC 4

Ollerton Town FC have been through a couple of tough seasons of late and with all respect tothe committee who stuck with them,when so many clubs could have gone under, Liam Kent held things together and guided them to survival and he rebuilt the club and got others to come aboardand help save this club. The same thing happened also atGedling Southbank a few seasons ago and they were very close to folding as well until Luke Barson came along with a brand new squad of players,just as Lee Cook as done with Ollerton this season.

When the Cup draw was made, I said I would go local and this tie just stood out for me, Ollerton have always been a club that have been welcoming and run by good people,Southbank a team from the Notts Senior League tend to play good football.

On arrival,I was met by old friend Michael Gibson who made me a cuppa and greeted by everyone from both sides and soon got both line ups for the match.

Just before kick off,  Refs Obsserver and old friend Dave Plowright came and sat with me.

The tie kicked off and both sides matched each other, but on 14 minutes, from a corner on the right side, Ollerton's REGAN EDRIDGE leapt the highest to head his side in to a 1-0 lead. Ollerton proceeded to have chances but Gedlings defence stood firm.

After 36 minutes, the game was level,when the ball was forced in tothe 6 yard box for JOSHUA WOOD to slam home.

The Second Half kicked off with the floodlights on due to the 3pm kick off, so the camera went in to my basket at the front of my mobility scooter.

Ollerton began the second half the brighter with the visiting keeper the more busier, but coulddon nothing in the 57th minute, after a nice move,ended with home sub HARVEY LIMB hitting a very low hard shot from 25 yards in to the net.

Again pushed forward Southbank and on 63 minutes the ball was cut in from the right side for STEPHEN KING to equalise.

Both teams went from end to end in search of a winner and the homesters must have thought on 80 minutes when a last gasp fingtertip saveby the away keeper turned a low shotheading for the corner round the post.

As the game was heading towardsthe 88th minute andmost thinking about the penalties, a long ball caught out Ollertons back defence and AARON DARCH pressedon tothe ballto stroke the ball in to the corner of the net, to give Southbank the lead forthe first time in the tie.

Ollerton pushed everyone forward and this left gaps at the back and in to injurytime a long ball from the visiting defence found STEPHEN KING who took the ball past the last defender and hit the ball past the keeper to make it 4-2.

With the 6 goals seen at todays tie,it nowtakes the charity blog running total for MOTOR NEURONE SUPPORT GROUP to £1,968.75p
