Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division One
CLIFTON ALL WHITES RESERVES FC 8 AFC SANDIACRE TOWN 1
With Hazel away up in Preston, it looked like a blank weekend for me, until I had spoken with match referee Stuart Ingleby who kindly offered me a lift to this match, but knew I couldnt get my mobilitynscooter in his car, I opted for my stroller which folds up easy and only use now and again.
On arrival, I was met by old friends from my old Dunkirk days of Steve Hardie and Dave Wigley and soon noy only had a flask of tea made me but had both teamsheets.
I got to the far side of the pitch in the halfway line and joined the father of a Sandiacre player who was making his debut(not his dad but his son)
The game kicked off and was quite erven with both sides having chances possibly Clifton having the better, but Sandiacre having a couple of decent efforts, but after 28 minutes ARTHUR ALDRIDGE burst through and slotted the ball under the visiting keeper to make it 1-0 to his side.
Sandiaacre tried to play on but the passing of all whites on the well worn 4g pitch suited their game more and just before half time, after a defencive mix up, LEWIS HOLMES lobbed the Sandiacre keeper to make it 2-0.
On 47 minutes, a break down the right wing saw a low cross along the 6 yard line for LEWIS HOLMES tap in to a empty net to make it 3-0 to Clifton.
In the 49th minute, were the visditors back in the game, as they gained a free kick well in to theor own half that was booted up pitch and fell to SAM ALFRED to reduce the arrears. Sadly for them, the answer was no, as straight from kick off YERIM ZOKO opened up the 3 goal advantage again.
On 58 minutes, a quick break saw YEMIN ZOKO on the right wing and the visiting keeper running towards him, but Zoko clipped the ball over his head and despite the keepers efforts to get back it was to no avail. Within a minute and it as 6-1 and it was that man YEMIN ZOKO with his hat trick within 10 minutes, when tucking away a close range effort.
Sandiacre kept trying their best but Clifton were on top form and on 73 minutes, RIO SCOTT scored from a scrambled area to make it 7-1.
With all subs used, it was a pity to watch a Sandiacre player tell his team mates that he had enough and walk off the pitch to the changing room area, leaving his mates to play with only 10 men. Sandiacre then created a couple of chances, but in to injury time,it was Clifton Sub CALLUM HANNETT who rounded up the scoring for the day.
