YOUNG WHITES HIT YOUNG TOWN FOR EIGHT

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division One

CLIFTON ALL WHITES RESERVES FC 8 AFC SANDIACRE TOWN 1

With Hazel away up in Preston, it looked like a blank weekend for me, until I had spoken with match referee Stuart Ingleby who kindly offered me a lift to this match, but knew I couldnt get my mobilitynscooter in his car, I opted for my stroller which folds up easy and only use now and again.

On arrival, I was met by old friends from my old Dunkirk days of Steve Hardie and Dave Wigley and soon noy only had a flask of tea made me but had both teamsheets.

I got to the far side of the pitch in the halfway line and joined the father of a Sandiacre player who was making his debut(not his dad but his son)

The game  kicked off and was quite erven with both sides having chances possibly Clifton having the better, but Sandiacre having a couple of decent efforts, but after 28 minutes ARTHUR ALDRIDGE burst through and slotted the ball under the visiting keeper to make it 1-0 to his side.

Sandiaacre tried to play on but the passing of all whites on the well worn 4g pitch suited their game more and just before half time, after a defencive mix up, LEWIS HOLMES lobbed the Sandiacre keeper to make it 2-0.

On 47 minutes, a break down the right wing saw a low cross along the 6 yard line for LEWIS HOLMES tap in to a empty net to make it 3-0 to Clifton.

In the 49th minute, were the visditors back in the game, as they gained a free kick well in to theor own half that was booted up pitch and fell to SAM ALFRED to reduce the arrears. Sadly for them, the answer was no, as straight from kick off YERIM ZOKO opened up the 3 goal advantage again.

On 58 minutes, a quick break saw YEMIN ZOKO on the right wing and the visiting keeper running towards him, but Zoko clipped the ball over his head and despite the keepers efforts to get back it was to no avail. Within a minute and it as 6-1 and it was that man YEMIN ZOKO with his hat trick within 10 minutes, when tucking away a close range effort.

Sandiacre kept trying their best but Clifton were on top form and on 73 minutes, RIO SCOTT scored from a scrambled area to make it 7-1.

With all subs used, it was a pity to watch a Sandiacre player tell his team mates that he had enough and walk off the pitch to the changing room area, leaving his mates to play with only 10 men. Sandiacre then created a couple of chances, but in to injury time,it was Clifton Sub CALLUM HANNETT  who rounded up the scoring for the day.

So with 9 goals scored at 25p per goal now takes the running total for terh charity blog in aid of MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE SUPPORT GROUP up to £1,967.25p

MCLEANS BRACE SPOILS RENDEERS SPECIAL DAY

Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League: Division Two

BUYGLASS CO REINDEER FC 1 GREYFRIARS FC 3

Programme £2

Badge £4

Attendance 93

Many thanks to Dale James for the above photo, you can read his website on this LINK

Last month I produced a programme for AFC Parabellum, but last season at Notts Olympic FC, the Reindeer man Wez O Rourke asked if I could the same for them, it is going to be a season where Ive been asked by several clubs to do their FIRST EVER PROGRAMME and BADGE, so Im looking at one a month, which is drawing groundhoppers from all over the country, also postal pre orders from Finland and Germany, so not only putting the Eurosoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League on the map, but also the small clubs that folks who have travelled from Essex and Scotland have never heard of before.

This morning it was chucking it down with rain, but on arrival at midday, the club had erected a gazebo for me and Shawn, as Hazel had to drop us off as she is poorly. We set up the table and then Andy and his wife set up a gazebo next to us selling teas, coffees and other goodies but the best came 20 minutes in to the game, when 3 trays of fresh cakes appeared, so I shouted to the hoppers and a queue soon appeared away from pitchside and the 3 trays were soon empty.

From midday to kick off at 2pm, hoppers were appearing collecting their programmes and badges and also throwing money in to our donation bucket, as the money is being split between 2 charities, the MOTOR NEURONE SUPPORT GROUP and the AUTISM AWARENESS SHOP that aids adults and children and families with autism and as many of you are aware, my son shawn has autism to which quite a few hoppers had to put up with some of his corny jokes.

At 1.30pm I went down to the refs room Ray Ferguson for the team sheets, so I could take a photo of them for the hoppers, it as good to see Ray, who is a referee who stands no nonsense.

The game kicked off and bottom of the table Reindeer had the first chance of the game, but Greyfriars began to push forward in the game and on 15 minutes, they were awarded a penalty after a trip in the box. Up stepped GREG MCLEAN to blast the ball straight down the middle in to the net.

Reindeer tried to press forward and a tackle saw a home player on the ground to which they werent happy about, something must have been said from the touchline which saw the home bench get a yellow card.

On 37 minutes, the visitors doubled their lead with a very good goal by LUKE HALLAM. Things got worse for the home side as they lost the ball from the kick off, the ball fell just outside the area to GREG MCLEAN who's low shot hot the back of the net to make it 3-0 to the visitors.

The Second Half kicked off and the homesters looked to have a bit more fire in them, though at the other end, their keeper was keeping the visitors at bay.

On 56 minutes, a long throw from the right side in to the box found out JONATHAN BRIGGS  who pul;led a goal back. On the hour, the visiting keeper made a outstanding save to stop Reindeer from reducing the arrears.

The game still was very entertaining but mainly the home keeper stopping the visitors from running away with the game

At the final whistle, the majority of the hoppers came over to make kind comments about how good a match it was from both teams and cant wait for me to do the programme for the FCV Grace Dieu match which is to be announced shortly.

Must add I felt ref Ray Ferguson had a very good match

Since geting home I have had emails from people that attended the match saying how they felt the clubs were a credit to the league and also how much hard work Buyglass Reindeer had put in to the day for their enjoyment.

I dont have a balance for the charity as the money has been added to the AFC Parabellum money raised and then will be added to the money that comes in from the FCV Grace Dieu match then I can give a running total over the 3 matches, as ive still got money to come in via the programmes and badges to be sent out, then I can update the totals

I have been asked by Buyglass Co Reindeer Secretary, Manager and most of their players to thank everyone for coming along and giving their support today.

If anyone who isnt on my programme or badge list and would like to be added, please email me on  hornby60uk@yahoo.co.uk
